50 Seniors from 50 States | Join the Senior Adventure

If you’ve been around for a while, you might remember my nickname: Traveling Ginger.

(And if you’re new here – take a peek at the pictures below and you’ll get the idea.)

There was a season when I was always on the road, camera in hand, capturing adventures across the country (and sometimes the world).

But life has shifted – these days, my greatest adventure involves less travel and more adventuring locally with my baby girl.

The travel bug? Very much still here. So I dreamed up something new – a way to combine my love for photographing seniors with my love for new places and stories.

Introducing: 50 from 50

Living in Florida has opened my eyes to a pretty unique opportunity when it comes to senior portraits.
About 80% of the seniors I photograph don’t live here – they’re on vacation and want something that feels different than the parks or brick walls they’re used to back home.

It didn’t take long before I noticed a pattern… and an idea started to form:

What if I could photograph 50 seniors from 50 states?

It’s already happening – I looked back and realized I’ve already photographed seniors from 8 different states. Some sessions happened right here on the beach. Others took place in their home states. And every single one of them had a story worth telling.

So, what is “50 from 50,” exactly?

It’s part passion project, part creative challenge, part connection-based adventure.

The goal? To photograph 50 incredible seniors from each of the 50 United States.
You don’t have to live in Florida – and you don’t even have to come here (although the sunsets are worth it).
We can shoot in your hometown, your dream spot, or during your family’s next vacation.

This is about telling your story – wherever that leads us.

One of my favorite parts of being a senior photographer is hearing what life looks like where you’re from:
School breaks that revolve around harvest time. Small-town traditions. City energy. Hometown pride.

This project is about more than just filling in a map.
It’s about connecting across places, celebrating what makes you you, and creating portraits that feel personal – and maybe even a little adventurous.

How to Get Involved

Whether you’re a senior or just someone who knows an amazing one, here’s how you can be part of the 50 from 50 story:

  1. Join the Journey: Are you a senior who wants portraits that don’t feel cookie-cutter? Let’s create something unforgettable – in Florida or wherever your story lives.
  2. Share the Love: Know someone in another state who would love this idea? Send them this link, tag them on IG, or forward this post. You’d be surprised how fast the map fills in with just a little help.
  3. Follow The Adventure: Keep up with each new story on the blog and @travelinggingerphoto – I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes, and all the fun moments along the way.

Being part of 50 from 50 means:

  • Senior portraits that actually stand out
  • A story to tell that’s unique to you
  • And the chance to be part of a creative project connecting seniors across the country

Imagine looking back on this season and seeing not just how you looked – but where you were, what you were dreaming about, and how you showed up as your full self.
